What do you specialize in recruiting, and what types of roles/industries do you love working with most?
I have been in the recruitment industry for over 15 years, working with a variety of roles, including health and wellness, engineering (specifically in transportation and rail), finance, and technology. My passion lies in recruiting for engineering roles, Human Resources and Technology. I'm excited about the new challenges that come from working across various industries to showcase my diverse skill set.
What’s your “recruitment superpower”?
My primary goal as a recruiter throughout my career has been to find and hire the right talent for my stakeholders while ensuring a positive experience for both candidates and clients. I believe my recruitment superpower is my ability to assess a candidate's fit with company culture, extending beyond just their skills and experience. I take pride in building and maintaining strong relationships with my clients to provide the best service and earn their trust.
What role do you secretly love filling or selling the most?
I particularly enjoy filling engineering positions, as well as roles in healthcare and wellness.
What does a great candidate or client experience look like to you?
I take pride in my ability to nurture and enhance new relationships with candidates and clients. For me, a great candidate experience involves aligning their skills and experiences with job opportunities where they will feel comfortable and fulfilled. As for clients, the ideal recruiter-client relationship is built on trust from the beginning. Being responsive to their needs and consulting them on the best hiring strategies are essential for finding the right talent. Quick and efficient responses help establish trust and foster strong relationships.
What’s one thing people are often surprised to learn about recruitment?
Many people are surprised to learn that recruitment is not just about screening candidates, conducting interviews, and making offers. It requires a blend of interpersonal skills, analytical thinking, and a focus on ensuring a positive candidate experience while building trust with both candidates and stakeholders. Recruitment is about selling a culture and a career to candidates, making sure we find the right fit for them.
What’s your go-to way to recharge outside of work?
When I need to recharge, I dive into fitness, which has been a huge part of my life since childhood. I work out daily, starting with my 6 AM morning walks—rain, snow, or shine! I love my Peloton cycling, strength workouts, and hot yoga.
Spending time with my 7-year-old son, Andreas, and my husband is super important to me. In the summer, we love swimming in our pool and having parties, plus we enjoy a round of golf here and there.
Coffee order of choice?
As for coffee, I’ll never say no to a Grande Cappuccino with coconut milk from Starbucks, and iced coffee is always a win!
Cats, dogs, or “I’ll pet anything”?
I grew up with dogs, so I definitely have a soft spot for them. Now I just need to convince my husband to get one!
Go-to hype song?
When it comes to music, I’m all about Coldplay. Their songs just hit the right spot for me.
One thing you could talk about for hours?
I could chat for hours about anything fitness-related or dive into a good book. I love reading both fiction and self-help novels!
