1. Why do you choose to work in recruitment?
I started my career working in customer service, and I think that the skills used in those roles, along with the passion that you have for helping people, never goes away. It stays with you both in your personal and professional life.

Recruitment is one of those jobs that you need to have passion for helping others; otherwise, it’s just a job. I truly don’t feel like this is a job – I love what I do, and I’m fortunate to be able to do what I love every day!

2. What are your areas of specialty within recruitment?
I work on all types of roles; from corporate to field roles, from entry-level to executive, and everything in between. But my true passion is working with candidates who are new in their career, because I really love to coach, guide and mentor them.

3. What is the worst job you ever had OR the worst interview experience you ever had as a candidate?
Funny enough, as a candidate, I was once pushed into going to an interview for a job that I really didn’t want. And of course, when I did the interview, it was clear to the employer that their role was not for me, based on my answers. I’ve never forgotten that experience, or how it felt to have someone be so aggressive about MY next career opportunity. But I also think it helped me to be a better recruiter, so I’m thankful for that experience at the same time!

4. Favourite activity outside of work?
Video games. I absolutely love to unwind after a long day of work or on the weekend by playing with friends on my PS5. My favourite games are Dead by Daylight, Call of Duty, The Forest and Texas Chainsaw Massacre!

5. Favourite animal and why.
I’m a huge animal lover, so I really love them all! But I would have to say dogs, because my Roxy girl is my bestie. She and I go everywhere together!

6. Favourite ban/singer/genre of music.
Although I don’t sing well, and I can’t play any instruments, I have a true respect for musicians and singers, and absolutely love many genres of music! As I grew up with a lot of country music around me, I love singers such as Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings; but I also love Selena Gomez, Pitbull, Enrique Iglesias and Taylor Swift. In my “random” music playlist, I have a range of all genres! (A little secret: my fave group of all time is Simon & Garfunkel) 😉

Cilantro: Yay or Nay?
YAY! Love it!
