Here’s what you will do:
- Perform and/or verify various quality tests during the development and prototyping phase
- Document quality methods and communicate them to all stakeholders
- Coordinate various activities related to product launch at the quality level
- Plan activities and write Measurement System Performance reports
- Perform production results analyses, e.g., Process Statistics
- Coordinate the problem-solving process related to customer complaints or requests for corrective action internally or with suppliers
- Define and implement process and technological changes
- Support design and drafting of foundry tooling layouts with a focus on manufacturability
- Act as a resource person and support your team and Production in the use of quality tools, problem-solving techniques, and statistical tools
- Support estimation of new parts and costing updates for existing parts
- Provide engineering oversight and technical direction to the foundry tooling shop
- Identify process risks and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Lead and support in-house welding operations for casting repair
Here’s what we’re looking for and what you will need to succeed:
- Post-secondary education in Engineering (Metallurgical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or similar), or considerable working experience in a similar role
- 2 or more years of experience in a Quality Assurance role in a manufacturing setting
- Hands-on experience in non-ferrous foundry or similar setting is a strong asset
- Knowledge of foundry methods, including gating, risering, and solidification principles is an asset
- Experience with tooling design, foundry layouts, and manufacturing constraints
- Exposure/experience with customer-facing interactions such as technical reviews and new product launch support
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment while maintaining high quality of work and a positive attitude
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills
- Highly computer proficient: Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook. QMS, ERP experience
- Experience using quality tools and instruments
- Highly organized, accountable, motivated and driven
- Strong attention to detail and a collaborative, proactive attitude
