Industry: Heavy Industrial Manufacturing
Hours : Monday to Friday 6 am - 2:30 pm
Here's what you will do:
- Work daily with CMMS software to create, modify, and close work orders
- Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
- Install, align, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces and generators according to layout plans using hand and power tools
- Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks and tractors to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery
- Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
- Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and mechanical logic controls
- Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts
- Operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery
- Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery
- Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment
- May perform other tasks as deemed appropriate
Here's what we're looking for and what you will need to succeed:
- 5+ years of hands-on Maintenance experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
- 433A Licensed Millwright or 4th Year Apprentice. Red Seal Millwright is an advantage.
- Forklift license or experience with willingness to become certified
- Overhead Crane Operator license or experience with willingness to become certified
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery including basic skills with PLC troubleshooting
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints/drawings
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and evolving environment
- Strong oral and written communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (lifting, moving materials, going up ladders, crouching, etc.)
- Ability and willingness to learn, curiosity, positive attitude and commitment to getting the job done right in a timely manner
- Reliable and committed with good attendance record
- Computer proficient: MS Office, CMMS
- High regard for health and safety and commitment to always following company and safety policies and procedures
- Excellent attention to detail, highly organized, and strong multi-tasking abilities
- Experience using a variety of hand and power tools. Welding or fabrication experience is an asset.
- Capable of working in heights, and confined spaces
