What Will You Do?
The Business Development Manager is responsible for expanding the customer base and driving revenue growth for the group of companies within Western Canada. They will educate prospective customers on the ROI of a premium solution. Success in this role requires exceptional listening skills, quick thinking, and the ability to negotiate on value rather than price.
- Educate and convey the company’s customer value proposition and how to apply it in a tangible way to a wide variety of business cases
- Continuously identify, research, and action potential leads, identifying the key decision makers
- Make quality introductions, setting the foundation for a future relationship that is not centered around being low price
- Ensure CRM is accurate and updated consistently reflecting real-time data / status of prospects and active customers
- Facilitate the transition of a new accounts to the operations team
- Retain and expand volume within current accounts
- Build internal relationships with operations team to open communication flow around account performance, issues, and feedback.
- Stay current on relevant industry information, competitors
- Gather and relay insights/feedback to management to assist in continuous improvement of the business
- Maximize price and margin for accounts
What Do You Bring?
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field
- 5 or more years’ proven experience in logistics, transportation, and/or supply chain. Experience with specialized services is an asset but not required. The ability to communicate value and ROI is essential!
- Ability to identify market opportunities, create business strategies, and implement them effectively to ultimately drive new growth, achieve and exceed KPI’s
- Strong tech and analytical skills to evaluate customer data, identify trends, set budgets and adjust strategies
- Proven success in negotiating deals and closing sales in a competitive environment
- Computer proficient: MS Office, CRM, sales analytics tools
- Good knowledge of North American geography and transit times
- Strong business acumen, strategic mindset, a self-motivated HUNTER that is driven to rise above the competition and has eyes for opportunity
