Overview:
  
Our client is a multi-trade contractor that executes high quality residential and ICI projects. With a reputation based on providing top-of-class products and successfully executing quality projects, they are looking to add a highly experienced Mechanical Foreman or Woman / Lead Hand to their team.
  
The Foreman/woman is responsible for the day to day execution of ICI mechanical projects.  They will work collaboratively with internal and external teams and stakeholders to uphold the quality and safety standard the company is known for.
   
Here’s what you’ll do:
  

  • Lead a team of HVAC and Plumbing technicians and apprentices, ensuring proper training, guidance, and support.
  • Uphold safety standards on job sites, ensuring adherence to company safety policies and Ontario regulations.
  • Carefully read and interpret blueprints to ensure proper specifications are being followed.
  • Accurately measure and layout plan for installation.
  • Assemble and install systems and be a hands-on leader as needed, especially to ensure project deadlines are being met.
  • Ensure the necessary materials required for the project are on hand and readily available.
  • Maintain regular communication with project managers, providing updates on the status of the project.
  • Communicate with the customer while on site, may communicate with vendors and other stakeholders.
  • Motivate and ensure employees are completing tasks to a high quality, on schedule, and in a safe manner.
  • Other duties as assigned
   
Here’s what you’ll need to be successful:
  
  • 313A or 306A Journeyperson
  • At least 2 years of experience in a Foreman or Lead role: Leading crews on ICI projects, working with customers, project managers, ensuring projects are running smoothly.
  • Knowledge of construction principles and practices, including efficient use of labor hours
  • Making good judgment in work assignments
  • Proficient reading blueprints
  • Must be able to work with minimum supervision and act as a positive representative of the company
  • Must be proactive with strong communication and interpersonal skills, a strong ability to problem solve and critically think, able to make good judgement calls and act with integrity and honesty at all times.
  • Solid computer skills
  • Able to meet the physical demands of the role
  • Valid G driver’s licence with a clean record
