We are proud to partner with our client who has produced quality products for over 60 years as they add a new Production Lead Hand to their team. This is a straight day shift (Monday to Friday) with one afternoon shift rotation per month. The company is incredibly stable company that has recently made a huge investment to upgrade and modernize their equipment and operations. Here’s what you will do:
Lead and support employees within the department on a daily basis.
Assign and coordinate work to meet production goals and deadlines.
Train, coach, and support team members, including new hires.
Communicate production priorities, safety information, and operational updates.
Serve as the first point of contact for day-to-day employee concerns and production issues.
Monitor workflow, productivity, and staffing needs to ensure efficient operations.
Help resolve production challenges and implement corrective actions when needed.
Work alongside the team and assist with production tasks as required.
Ensure quality standards, work procedures, and customer requirements are consistently followed.
Complete and verify required quality inspections and checks.
Identify and address quality concerns in partnership with production and quality teams.
Support continuous improvement efforts to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and maintain a positive workplace culture.
Here’s what we’re looking for and what you will need to succeed:
- Solid oral and written English communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable and team-oriented
- High regard for safety and adherence to following processes and procedures
- Ability to follow appropriate departmental work instructions, including health and safety rules and procedures
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Overhead Crane Operator certified, or willing to be trained
- 3 years’ experience operating forklift and a valid license
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good co-ordination and manual dexterity
- Excellent attention to detail with ability to multi-task and highly organized
- Ability to handle a heavy workload and work effectively with interruptions and changing priorities
- Capable of standing for long periods of time
- Familiar with basic Office applications – Word, Excel
- Completion of high school. Completion of post-secondary education is an asset but not required.
- Experience working in a foundry, casting or other heavy industrial environment is required.
- Ability to complete a criminal background check is required.
