Purchasing
- Coordinate with the project leads to generate internal BOM (bill of material)
- Update internal BOM as required/any changes
- Review requisitions for materials, equipment, and stock
- Source and obtain price quotations from vendors
- Negotiate with vendors
- Prepare purchase orders
- Calculate the cost of orders and forward invoices
- Monitor order status and expedite deliveries
- Maintain purchasing files, reports, and price lists
- Verify receipts of items against purchase orders
- Inspect deliveries for damage or defects
- Unload and store received items
- Update inventory records
- Resolve discrepancies and issues with suppliers
- Resolve discrepancies and issues with internal design team
- Manage returns and exchanges
- May operate equipment like forklifts
- At least 2 years’ experience in a similar purchasing / inventory position. Experience in a project-based production or Engineering environment is an asset.
- Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain or similar is preferred but not required
- Experience sourcing, ordering and procuring materials and negotiating with vendors is required
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
- Excellent numeracy and mathematical skills with a proven track record of producing accurate work
- Highly organized and adaptable with an ability to prioritize and shift tasks to meet business needs is essential
- Resilient and able to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
- Strong computer skills including MS Office, particularly Excel, is required. ERP and/or Project Management software experience is preferred but can be trained. Experience with AutoCAD or engineering design software is an asset.
- Must be able to work fully in-office. Ability to travel to project sites is an asset (Driver’s License and vehicle)
- Experience operating a forklift is strongly preferred. Valid forklift license is preferred
