Why Are We Looking for You?

We are looking for an experienced Quality / EHS Manager to lead our clients quality control and food safety program at a brand new production facility. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with industry regulations, customer requirements, and company standards while driving continuous improvement in quality management systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards.
  • Ensure certification and adherence to Safe Quality Food (SQF), ISO 14001, and other relevant quality standards.
  • Implement and enforce food safety programs, including HACCP, GMP, and ISO 9001.
  • Monitor and assess compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and customer specifications.
  • Conduct internal audits, lead external audits, and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Utilize quality control tools, data analysis, and reporting to identify trends and drive improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance product quality and safety.
  • Provide leadership, training, and guidance to quality assurance staff.
  • Stay updated on ISO 45001 and EcoVadis requirements, with the ability to integrate best practices into operations.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Experience: Minimum 5–7 years in a QA role in a HACCP or GMP facility with at least 2 years' experience in a leadership position. 
  • Experience in the packaging industry is preferred. 
  • Post-secondary education in Food Safety or similar area of study is required.  Additional certifications such as SQF, HACCP, GMP, and ISO 9001 preferred. Experience with ISO 14001 is required. Knowledge of ISO 45001 and EcoVadis is an asset.  Lean Six Sigma is preferred. 
  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of food safety regulations, quality control tools, and compliance requirements.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and identifying process improvements.
  • Leadership: Experience managing teams and implementing quality assurance programs.
  • Communication: Ability to interact with regulatory agencies, auditors, and internal stakeholders effectively.
  • Personality: A strategic, passionate, and big-picture thinker with a high level of accountability is required to be successful in this role.
